A Change of Pace hit the music scene hard with their debut album “An Offer You Can’t Refuse.” They brought the old emocore sound back with a hint of the new post-hardcore sound. So not only were they nostalgic for the emocore fans of the 80’s, but they also presented the new progressions of the post-hardcore sound for today’s youth.
In their new album “Prepare the Masses,” ACOP takes their progression one step further. With the discovery of sampling and sequencing, they have certainly committed to the new post-hardcore sound. Resembling bands like Thursday and The Receiving End of Sirens, ACOP hits a homerun with their new album.
A Change of Pace brings back the sound from their former album with songs like “Take Care” and “I’m Alive”. Theses songs have the pop sounding choruses and the standard vocal harmonies. Their new sound, which closely resembles Thursday can be found in songs like “How to Rape a Country” and “Prepare for the Masses”. Their first album previewed this sound. Songs like “Asleep at the Wheel” and “Loose Lips Sink Ships” from the former album gave fans the idea ACOP was going for in their next album.
There’s no way a fan of any underground emo or hardcore cannot enjoy this album. It has everything a good band should present in its music. If you thought “An Offer You Can’t Refuse” was a great album, then grab a hold of something, and prepare yourself for “Prepare The Masses”.
